Good Knowledge to have before buying a new bar: First of all, let me explain that there is no such thing as a 400 pound test, 800 pound test, 1,000 pound test, 1200 pound test or 1500 pound test etc. This is all a fantasy created in an attempt to satisfy buyers of limited knowledge to pacify them.  What you want to look for the tensile strength of the steel. Our bars have a tensile strength of 190,000 PSI

Be careful before you buy: Grooves can weaken the bar. Grooves are cut into the bar for cosmetic reasons. But they can have dangerous consequences. And they are perhaps the most stupid and dangerous practice among Olympic bar manufacturers. We use a method that doesn’t affect the integrity of the bar as much as other bar manufacturers.

Dual Snap ring to connect Sleeves. Snap rings are the easiest way to remove your sleeves to service your bar and the less maintenance. Less expensive bars use bolts in ends to hold on the sleeves, bolts can and come lose and even fall out. The least expensive way to attach the sleeves is Roll pins. Very hard to repair or maintenance the bar. Also most cost because you need to replace the Roll pins every time.

Bar warranty generally covers defects or breakage. Does NOT cover bending, any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding an Exercise Equipment NW product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues

Bar Care
We are very excited that you are enjoying your Bar.  This bar will require some maintenance.  The Black Zinc plating is significantly more corrosion resistant than Oxide bars. We recommend the following maintenance to keep the bar steel healthy -frequency will vary based on climate:

  1. Use a plastic bristle brush and a mild detergent to clean the knurl-To sanitize bar use a mix of ammonia and water we suggest (1-gallon of water to 1-cup of ammonia)
  2. Wipe down with 3:1 oil and brush into the knurl with plastic bristle brush.  The steel will soak the oil in and the bar will stay healthy.
  3. Wipe off any excess oil with a dry towel.
